Trinity
He spit in the mud to anoint their eyes,
Made them deaf and blind to their children’s cries.
Worship the Sabbath where people can see
The way we suffer is god’s mystery.
Mama and daddy said they’d pray for me,
Sent to the temple of the trinity.
He took my brother and sister away.
I hope to join them someday.
I work in the earth so it sets me free
To make a new boy who may redeem me,
But the foolish man builds his house on the sand.
The flood wipes away all the sins of his hand.
Mama and daddy said they’d pray for me,
Locked in the prison of our family.
He keeps the others to stand by his throne.
I know I’ll never go home.
He formed in the dust the first woman and man,
Who ate from the tree to be cast out and damned.
He saves the babies unblemished and pure,
But I kneel condemned without a savior.
Mama and daddy said they’d pray for me,
Bound in the body of this misery.
He holds his lovers in heaven on high.
I’ll go to hell when I die.
